IIOSH Presents its Activities in Agricultural Sector at Agro Mashov international agricultural fair

On 13-14 January 2010, the 20th Agro Mashov international agricultural fair was held in Tel Aviv. As in the previous events of this kind, Israel institute for Occupational Safety and Hygiene (IIOSH) used this prestigious venue for promoting safety and health at farming work. An elaborate and informative stand was deployed and manned by the IIOSH agrosafety project's instructors.

During the exhibition's two days, it was attended by over 18 thousand specialists from 50 countries, a notable part of whom stopped at the IIOSH stand to receive the latest information on the Israeli approach to saving lives and preventing professional diseases among agricultural workers. Prospects for cooperation and joint activities were discussed, and the Israeli experience in disseminating the safety message in a range of languages spoken by foreign workers - e.g. Thai and Arabic - has drawn a significant interest.

Among those who spent considerable time at the IIOSH stand were the minister of agriculture of Colombia, a high-level delegation from the Jordanian ministry of agriculture and a group of official representatives of the Palestinian Autonomy.
